According to the NY Daily News, a 34-year old overnight stocker at a Long Island, NY Walmart was trampled to death by a mob of 200+ shoppers seeking Black Friday deals.  Another shopper who was pregnant was pushed to the ground and suffered a miscarriage.

This is just senseless.  The savings were not that great, and Walmart only had about 10 items in their Black Friday doorbuster sale.

If I were the manager of that Walmart, I would have shut the store down immediately, and no one would have been allowed to purchase anything from the store. It seems the police shut down the store shortly after the incident happened.

It’s pretty sad when you put a $40 savings on Guitar Hero or a $50 savings on a Blu-ray player over the life and safety of others.

I hope those of you who were at that store today and pushed your way in are proud of yourself for being responsible for the death of two other people.
