The U.S. Supreme Court decided that an appeals court decision that allowed Jewish and Islamic symbols in a holiday display, but banned a Christian nativity, would not be reviewed — allowing Christianity to continue to be barred from Christmastime in New York City schools.
In Philadelphia, a lawsuit was filed against a school district that would not allow a boy to wear a Jesus costume to school for Halloween, but permitted witches and devils. “[O]fficials at Willow Hill Elementary School in suburban Glenside told the boy Oct. 31 that he could not wear his faux crown of thorns or tell others he was dressed as Jesus.”
