Advent Wreath: The Light Grows Closer
Did you notice an Advent Wreath at your church this season? The Advent Wreath is a wonderful reminder of the anticipation of Christmas …
Four Sundays prior to Christmas, the first candle is lit. Each Sunday following, another candle is lit … until all four are lit. Then, on Christmas, one final candle — in the center of the wreath — is lit.
It is a sign to us … an ever-growing light to remind us of the growing closeness of the time when the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, will come to Earth. The final white candle on Christmas reminds us that the time has arrived.
Take the time in this next week and a half, to prepare for Christmas … the coming of the Savior.
