‘Code’ opens as 13th best all-time US
Twelve other films did better at the US box office on their opening weekends than did “[tag]The DaVinci Code[/tag]” ($77 million, domestic), but worldwide, it faired better … achieving #2 status at $224 million. “It could not beat Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which made $253 million in its first weekend last year.” However it may have achieved #1 in overseas sales … with $147million non-US.

Over The Hedge pulled in about $37.2 million, snaring the #2 spot for the weekend, and the #5 spot for openings thus far in 2006.
For openings in 2006, TDVC faired only about $9 million better than Ice Age 2.
