Laughing at the Code

National Review Online: Fr. John Wauck: Laugh When You watch that

One criticism I heard coming out of Cannes was that the film didn’t develop the characters enough.  Well, the characters in the book were one-dimensional so who do you expect?

That’s why, when I read the book (which I checked out from the local library almost 2 years after its release) I could have cared less about the characters.  It demonstrates what an amateurish writer Dan Brown is.  (At least I know I’m an Amateur.)

But it also shows that he didn’t care so much about the characters, as he did the point he was trying to get across.  Yes, if you didn’t realize… he had an agenda.
