The DaVinci Code will not topple Christianity.

The popularity of The DaVinci Code is a manifestation of a moral tugging that binds people to the Church, even though they desire and act in ways that are at odds with many of the doctrines and beliefs of Christianity.  As they listen to the world, people desire to be free of it.  They latch on to those things that will support their desires.

The DaVinci Code does that.

No matter its revisionist history, which no serious scholar accepts, people accept it because it gives them a reason to shake off that which they feel is binding on them.  It makes each person feel better about “doing his/her own thing”.

But, people need to understand the errors.  They need to understand that if they accept this, they are on a path to destruction — only they can’t see it.

It’s not enough to be a seeker of truth … when truth is there, it must be believed.
