Your cell phone records may be for sale on the web. There are numerous questions about how these records were obtained, and the FTC has been conducting an investigation of about 40 websites that offer personal cell phone records for sale.

In light of this investigation, several sites have shutdown operations … but it’ll be interesting to see what the investigation uncovers about how they got this information in the first place. Bills have been introduced in Congress to ban the sale of such records since it has become known.
