Target still in the cross-hairs

WorldNetDaily is reporting today that a conservative Christian group is calling for a continued boycott of Target for the store’s on-going ban of Salvation Army bell-ringers from storefronts. But, Target has partnered with the Salvation Army to help people across the country, despite holding fast on the ban on bell-ringers and kettles.

Seems Target is experimenting with another option instead of the bell-ringers. Target has created an online wish list, similar to a gift registry, that will allow visitors/donors to select a desired area of the country to send donations from a list of needed items. Salvation Army will distribute the donated items. (Target already has a similar wishlist for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital).

Last year, Target’s actions led to a record year of donations for the Salvation Army; bringing in $102 million, compared with $93 million in 2003.
